Castor Oil: Ancient Medicine For Modern Bodies

Humanity feels like it's shifting in really noticeable, grounded ways right now. And for me, those shifts have looked like finally finding a home in my body.
Trusting.
Accepting.
Acknowledging.
Honoring.
For the first time in my life, I am changing so deeply that every day I’m in awe of myself—and so profoundly grateful to my body for housing me on this soul-expanding journey.
From that space of gratitude, castor oil has become an integral part of my healing.
It began as a way to acknowledge the little nuisances in my body:
-Overburdened liver – castor oil pack
-Menstrual cramps – castor oil pack
-UTI symptoms – castor oil pack
But it’s evolved into a way for me to connect mind, body, and soul.
As my body clears, my soul heals, and my mind connects the dots—castor oil holds all of it together. It's the thread I've been weaving through every layer of transformation.
Castor oil contains ricinoleic acid, a powerful anti-inflammatory that penetrates deep layers of skin and fascia. It’s one of the lymphatic system’s best allies, moving what’s stuck—physically and energetically.
When used with intention and ritual, it also helps calm the nervous system. The oil reduces inflammation, supports tissue relaxation, and activates the parasympathetic state—the one where healing happens.
It’s not just an oil. It’s a message:
"You are safe now."
As many of you know, essential oils were the first plant medicine I truly connected with. Celestial Roots Co. was born from a simple but fierce desire to heal myself and my family. So it was only natural that I began combining them with castor oil.
What I noticed?
The castor oil carries the medicine of the essential oils deeper into the system—and amplifies the effect.
My process isn’t clinical—it’s intuitive. I research the oils and then I pause, listen, and ask my body what it needs.
And I invite you to do the same.
But if you're still finding your rhythm, here are some blends I’ve personally used and loved:
Kidney Flush Support: Lavender + Rosemary + Frankincense + Castor oil
(Applied over the lower back, directly over the kidneys)
Menstrual Cramp Relief: Clary Sage + Sweet Marjoram + Lavender + Castor oil
(Applied to the lower abdomen and womb space)
Digestive & Cramping Relief: Fennel + Chamomile + Copaiba + Castor oil
(Massaged gently into the abdomen in clockwise circles)
Liver Support: Lemon + Geranium + Frankincense + Castor oil
(Applied to the upper right quadrant of the abdomen, over the liver)
I have a few dedicated “castor oil shirts” and usually just let the oil soak in instead of using a wrap. But when I want to go deeper, I’ll sit with a heat pack and a warm cup of tea, inviting my body to fully receive.
Castor oil doesn’t force detox.
It doesn’t push.
It opens.
It offers the body permission to move, to release, to receive.
It’s a sacred nudge—not a demand.
Plant medicine doesn’t have a rigid timeline.
Sometimes, its most powerful work happens in those quiet little moments where you simply choose to listen.
So ask your body:
"What do you need right now?"
What whisper is it sending you?
This practice didn’t start as a protocol. It started as a quiet listening.
And I invite you into that same space—whether it’s with castor oil, essential oils, or a simple, intentional cup of tea.
That’s where the medicine is born.
You have the power to heal.
You are the medicine.
