Join us for a hands-on herbal adventure inspired by plants, moonlight, and the magic of making tea without heat. Through touch, smell, taste, observation, and experimentation, children will explore what happens when herbs meet cold water, and discover how time can transform a plant just as surely as heat can.
We’ll investigate herbs through a series of cold-water experiments, watching colors emerge, scents release, textures change, and dried plants begin to soften and rehydrate. Children will make predictions, compare short and longer infusions, and experience for themselves how different plants behave in water.
Along the way, we’ll also explore the stories, folklore, and traditional associations carried by some of the plants we meet: from love and protection to luck, dreams, beauty, and transformation. Using what they’ve discovered, each participant will create their own Lunar Infusion, choosing herbs through both their senses and the meaning they want their blend to hold. They’ll give their creation a name, design a personalized label, and take it home to steep beneath the moonlight.
Who Is This For?
This workshop is designed primarily for children ages 5–12, but you know your child best. Younger children who would enjoy the activities and feel comfortable participating in a group setting are welcome with a little extra grown-up support.
Curious kids, little experimenters, plant lovers, moon watchers, and families who believe there’s still a little magic left in the natural world are all welcome. 🌙🌿

Can parents participate?
Absolutely, just make sure to include yourself as one of the participants during registration.
Can I bring more than one child?
Yes! Just make sure all participants have been included in registration.
Can I bring kids younger than 5?
This workshop is designed with ages 5–12 in mind, but you know your child best. If you have a younger child who you feel would enjoy the activities and be comfortable in a group setting, you're welcome to use your own judgment. Just plan to offer a little extra hands-on support if they need it. And younger siblings are always welcome!
What if my child has allergies?
Please include any herbal or food allergies on the registration form so I can plan accordingly. The workshop includes touching, smelling, and tasting a variety of herbs, and individual ingredients can be excluded when needed.
Do we need to be able to see the moon?
Nope! Lunar Infusions is designed as a complete indoor experience, so cloudy skies or winter weather won’t stop the magic. If weather and conditions allow, we’ll step outside at the end of the workshop for a short moon peek—but the moon has a habit of doing whatever she wants. 🌙
What exactly is a Lunar Infusion?
A Lunar Infusion is an herbal tea blend prepared with cold water and time instead of hot water. Each participant will create their own blend during the workshop, then take it home with instructions for steeping it beneath the moonlight.
